Weekly Obsession!
OMG WEEKLY OBSESSIONS ARE BACK!!!!! I love doing this series because I'm ALWAYS discovering new things so I figured why not share it with all of you. We can be obsessed together! Today's weekly obsession....invisibobble!!! I know I'm totally late to the game. If you don't know what these are they are a hair tie that doesn't pull or leave marks in hair. I have really thick hair so I was SURE these wouldn't hold my hair at all. My friend made me try it and I was so shocked!! My hair was damp so I put in a bun and IT STAYED!!!! You guys need to try them especially if you have thick hair. You can buy them anywhere but I picked mine up from Ulta. There are multiple colors as well. The only negative is they cost $9 for a set of 3. What are you guys loving right now?

Trying My First Natural Hair Products
I love trying new hair products. I've suffered from dandruff my whole life so I'm always looking for ways to help it. When Maple Holistics reached out to me asking me if I wanted to try their tea tree shampoo and conditioner. I immediately said yes. I've been testing them out for about two months now. I have a lot of thoughts so lets get into it.
First of all I love the packaging. Most natural products seem boring but I like how they really focus on how it looks. The first thing I did was smell it. I HATE how tea tree oil smells but this smells amazing! The lavender overpowers the tea tree scent which I really appreciate. I also love the price. Most natural products are insanely expensive but the shampoo is $8 and the conditioner is $12. That is a HUGE bonus!
Let's talk about how it worked for me. I loved it! My dandruff cleared up after about 3 washes which is great. The only problem I had was that it didn't lather up. It made me feel like it wasn't cleaning my hair even though it was. Overall I definitely recommend it! The coolest thing about Maple Holistics is the free sample program. Just click here and fill out the form. It's that easy! They have bath products, oils, and a bunch of other natural products. Go check them out!

Lazy Saturday Outfit
I am loving outfit posts at the moment! On Saturday I went to my nieces' birthday party. I wanted to look nice but still be comfortable. This is the perfect outfit for that. I wore a slightly oversized blue striped shirt. It is longer in the back with two pockets in front. I love how the stripes go in different directions. It makes it more interesting. I chose a pair of lightwash jeggings. They are super comfortable and the rip details make it more casual. Last up are my ankle booties. These are my favorite shoes! The chain details are just perfect! All my clothes are from Kohls. For my hair I did a messy braid with my sea salt spray for slight waves. Let me know if you want more posts like this.

Weekly Obsession!
It's been a crazy busy day today which is why this post is late. I didn't forget though! My weekly obsession is.....Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray!!!!!!! First of all I LOVE this brand. I own a couple of their other products and they are fantastic. I bought this spray in summer and never got a chance to use it. Now that I cut my hair I use it pretty much daily. You can put on wet or dry hair which is perfect. It really does make your hair look like you spent the day in the ocean. It also smells SO good! It's a really affordable product. I paid $6 which is what other products in this brand are as well. You won't regret checking this out!!! What are you loving?

Do you ever make impulse decisions? I do quite often. Today I chopped off about 8 inches of my hair! I've been thinking about it for awhile and finally did it. I thought I'd share my new hair with you guys! If any of you have short hair share some products that you use so I can try them.

Weekly Obsession!
I have missed sharing all my current obsessions with you guys!!!!! I promise I'm back for good though! My weekly obsession is.........braided hair ties!!! I was looking for hair ties that didn't have the metal piece. The problem is that I have SUPER thick hair so most of them just slide right out. While scrolling on Ulta I discovered these. All the reviews said they were great for thick hair so I bought them. OMG I can't get enough!!! I bought the neon ones and have the pastel and black one currently in my cart. I need them all! The only downfall is only 6 come in a pack and I need like 50! I guess I'll just have to buy more ;). What have you guys been loving? Let me know!

Ulta Haul!!!!
OMG you guys I feel like I've been missing out! I never understood how amazing Ulta was until now. I went in for one thing and came out with a full bag! The deals were just too good! I thought I would share what I bought in case you want to try these products too. What's your favorite thing at Ulta?
I went to Ulta for a blow dryer because mine is pretty much dead. My cousin is a hair stylist so I asked her what the best brand was. So I got the Hot Tools Tourmaline Ionic Professional. This is what most salons use. I love it! It has 6 heat settings, it's lightweight, and it's quiet. It's definitely an investment but worth it!
I bought a pack of Alligator Clips. I use these when I style my hair mostly. I did think these were expensive. I paid $6 for only 3. They do work though and no creases are left behind.
My hair is always full of tangles no matter what I do. I bought this Wet Brush just to see if it works. I really like it! I noticed a difference right away. It works on dry hair too. Try it out if you have tangled hair too.
I am addicted to the brand Not Your Mother's so when I saw it was buy one get one 50% off I couldn't resist. I bought the dry shampoo which is my favorite. It makes your hair look clean and feel super soft. It's the best!
I also got the volumizing hairspray because mine is almost empty. I haven't tried this yet but my friend told me it's amazing. Let me know if you want a review.
Next I bought the texturizing sea salt spray. I love products like this because it takes 5 minutes to have cute hair. You can spray this on wet or dry hair and then style it. I'm excited to try it!
Lastly I got the thermal spray. You can never have enough heat protector. I'll be using this soon so I'll let you know.
I've wanted to try The Body Shop for awhile now. I love that they are cruelty free. They also had buy one get one 50% off so I took advantage. I got 4 body butters. The scents are Honeymania, Pink Grapefruit, Mango, and Coconut. They smell amazing!! I bought these for my spa nights which is every Sunday.

Perfect Spring Outfit
It's officially spring!!! I'm SO happy because I had the winter blues for sure. One Saturday, my mom and I went to see the Phantom of the Opera. We love going to live shows together plus I get to dress up. I really want to do more fashion posts so I thought I'd share my perfect spring outfit. We'll start with my hair.
I really wanted something super easy and simple. So I pulled all my hair to one side and started with a twist. About half way down I started doing a fishtail braid. After I finished the braid I pulled it so it would look thicker and I was done!
I'm obsessed with rompers!! I bought this one from Delia's and I love it! I love the detailing and the tassles. It's part of the festival collection. I wore my black sandals to dress it up a little bit more. I would totally wear sneakers with it though. To finish the look I put on my purple and green sunglasses. They are just so cool and I love the shape.
If you want more posts like this then let me know!

My Galentine's Day Outfit
In case you didn't know Galentine's Day is celebrated on February 13. Basically it's just hanging out with all your girlfriends with no boys around. I went to a party where we ate dinner, played games, and watched movies. I thought I would share my outfit because I loved it!
I'll start with my hair. I did two braids and then used my perfect bun to put my hair in a bun. I wanted to do an updo because it looks like you took a lot of time when you really didn't. It took maybe 10 minutes.
Next we'll talk about my nails. I knew I wanted to do pink because of Valentine's Day. When I saw this grey color I knew it would be perfect. I just did hearts and dots. It turned out pretty well.
Now it's time for my outfit. My leather jacket is from boohoo. It's super light and soft. My sweater is a coral color with a chevron heart. It's from kohls and I like it because it's dressy but casual. I wore my faux leather leggings from kohls. Lastly I wore my tan booties which I'm obsessed with. They are from kohls also.

My Summer Essentials!
I'm SO glad that Summer is here!!! It rained for two months straight. I'm not even joking!! Now that it has finally become hot outside I thought I would share my essentials that I must have with me. Let me know what you must have!
First up is a bag of some kind. I personally prefer rucksacks because they are compact and not super bulky. You can throw it over your shoulder and just go anywhere. It fits everything you need and it's even better than a purse. I've been loving mine! Mine is actually a One Direction one. I'm not ashamed!
Rucksack:

It fits everything you need and it's even better than a purse. I've been loving mine! Mine is actually a One Direction one. I'm not ashamed!
Band-Aids:
This may seem like an odd essential but lately I have needed them A LOT! These are good for any injury. I got bad blisters and these band aids came in handy. Also these are good for other people you are with who may get a cut or something. Also yes mine are Disney Princesses!
Sunscreen:
Sunscreen is always a must! I'm trying a new brand this year. It's the Coppertone Sport. I always buy the spray kind because it's easier and you don't miss any areas. This one is supposed to be better with sweat so you can apply less often. I haven't used it much so I'm not sure if that's true. It definitely doesn't smell good though.
Body Spray:
Since my sunscreen isn't the best smelling I have a body spray. Bath and Body Works not only had their annual sale BUT they also brought back old scents. I FREAKED out when I saw Cucumber Melon. I used this SO much as a kid and it's bringing back the memories.
Infused Water:
I don't really like drinking water but obviously it's important to stay hydrated. My friend told me to buy an infused water bottle and I love it! You can put any fruit you want in the middle section and it just slightly flavors your water. I like using cherries or limes. You can buy these at Walmart or Target. You can also use a jug and fill a water bottle that you already own.
Headbands:
I cut my hair back in January and it's still a little too shorts for ponytails. So I bought a bunch of headbands. It keeps the hair off your face and you still look fashionable. They are also not expensive which is nice.
Snack:
I'm trying to eat less candy so I've been eating pistachios instead. They are just SO good! They are healthy and full of protein. I like the salted ones the best. They are a bit pricey but it's the perfect snack anytime.
Book:
I love to read! A book is great for the beach or on rainy days. I just started The Girl On The Train and it's really good so far! Be looking out for a review soon!
Bug Spray Fan:
The bugs have been TERRIBLE this year. I got blisters because my bites were so bad! I'm obsessed with my off clip on bug fan. It actually works! I've had mine for about 4 years now and I never get bitten when it's on. I just clip it to my shorts or chair and I'm protected. The best part is you don't even smell like bug spray. I highly recommend this!

My OOTD: Baseball Game
Every year around this time the College World Series comes to my hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. I go every year and it's basically the kick off to summer. Last night I went to a game so I thought I'd share my outfit! If you want more like posts like this you can email me, tweet me, or leave a comment!
Outfit: I wore a light blue romper that had different colored flamingos on it. I bought this for $7 from Delia's at the end of last year. It was perfect for a game because they are super comfortable.
Shoes: I wore my black sandals. I got these last year from Walmart for $10. They dress up every outfit but not too much.
Sunglasses: I own LOTS of sunglasses! I wore the ones the start out purple on top the slowly fade to green. I'm pretty sure I got them from Target for $5.
Hair: It was about 90 degrees yesterday so I did a messy top knot. Then I added a black headband to keep all the baby hairs contained.

Quiz Tuesday: What Color Should You Dye Your Hair?
Happy Tuesday! One of my favorite things to do is change my hair. I just get really bored. Lucky for me, my cousin is a hairstylist. Today's quiz is What Color Should You Dye Your Hair? My cousin is CONSTANTLY trying to get me to dye my hair. I'm always up for it but then back out. Maybe this will make actually do it! If you want to take this quiz click here. Share your results too!
I got Perfectly Peach! The description says: Your hair would look scrumptious in a peach hue.
I've been obsessed with peach lately. I think this would be really fun for summer. I better talk to my cousin!!

3 Easy Hairstyles For Short Hair In 5 Minutes Or Less
I recently cut my hair short. I was pretty freaked out because I went a bit shorter than I had planned. So I asked my cousin, who is also my hair stylist, how to style my hair. I'm going to share 3 easy hairstyles that I do that literally take 5 minutes or less. If you have any ideas let me know!
Beach Waves:
I really wish it was summer right now! Instead I just made my hair look like beachy summer waves. All you need is a spray. I use the Aussie Sprunch Spray. It is only about $4 at most drugstores and it still leaves your hair smooth. All you do is spray on your damp hair and grab hair to scrunch it. That's all!
Bouncy Curls:
I was worried that I couldn't curl my hair now but I found a way. Use the biggest size barrel of curling wand you have. Curl every other section of your hair. This will give you bouncy curls and tons of volume. Use hairspray to make it hold.
Halo Braid:
This is my favorite one. On each side of your head braid a section of hair and secure with an elastic. Then move both braids around to the back of your head and secure them together with bobby pins. This is perfect for mornings when you are in a hurry.

I Cut My Hair!
With the new year I wanted a new look. So today I cut it all off! I was inspired by Taylor Swift's short hair. I also added highlights and bangs. Here is the look!
I took a pretty big step. I told myself that it's just hair and it will grow back. I'm obsessed with the bangs though! What do you guys think?

Why Taylor Swift Is My Idol
We all have somebody we look up to besides our parents. Let's be honest, we all have that one celebrity that we idolize. For me it is Taylor Swift. The first time I found out about her was when I was 16. She was opening up for Rascal Flatts and it was her very first arena show. My sister knew her songs but I was obsessed the second she started singing. Her first album was pretty much the anthem for my senior year of high school. I just feel like she is my best friend. Hopefully someday I can meet her!
Also can we just talk about her style? It is FLAWLESS! Every single thing she wears just suits her. She needs to make a clothing line ASAP! I would buy every item for sure. I'm also obsessed with her new chic haircut. I'm actually cutting mine just like it next week just because I love it SO much!

Summer Series 2014: Summer Hair
I'm SO glad it is Saturday! Has school started for you guys yet? I have and I'm already over it. Today's post is about Summer hairstyles. In the Summer, I like to give my hair a break from the heat. This year I've been loving my hair donut. It makes the perfect bun. I wear it everywhere! It looks really classy too. The hair donut comes in different sizes for different hair lengths. Go buy one! They are only $1 and life changing. I also just go for a ponytail or a braid. If you do want curls I have the perfect solution. I did a tutorial on no heat curls using only a headband. How do you wear your hair?

Summer Series 2014: Summer Essentials
Welcome back! In case you are wondering, I'll be posting my Summer Series every Saturday morning. So come back every Saturday for more Summer fun! Today is all about my must have items for Summer. This is my favorite season so I have quite a few things to share. Let me know your essentials too! Let's get started!
Sunglasses:
I'm addicted to sunglasses! I buy a new pair every single year. This year I really wanted neon reflected aviators. While shopping online at Delia's I found these! I actually ordered the neon orange color and they were only $5. I wear them everywhere!
Sunscreen:
This should be on everybody's list! Protecting your skin is VERY important! I've used Banana Boat Sport for years but for some reason this year it made me very itchy. I have sensitive skin so my mom suggested I try the kids brand. So far it has been working. I prefer the spray because it's really quick and easy. Plus it locks so it won't spill all over your bag.
Iced Tea:
I have been OBSESSED with iced tea this Summer! Growing up my mom would always make tea but I never really drank it. Now I can't get enough! It is just super refreshing. I buy the Lipton brand and just keep a pitcher in the fridge. I just like original but you can buy flavored if you want.
Tumbler Cups:
These cups are AMAZING!!!!!!!! I take them with me wherever I go. They keep your drinks cold because the ice melts slower. Since they are double walled they don't sweat. You can get them for pretty cheap too. There are tons of colors and patterns to choose from too.
Ponytail Holders:
Let's be real...nobody wants to actually do their hair when it is 100 degrees outside. My hair is pretty much always up in the Summer. Whether it's a bun, a braid, or just a ponytail. I like to give my hair a break from heat anyway. If you do want do have curls then check out my easy no heat headband curls. Simple is always better.
Ice Cream:
I LOVE ice cream all year but especially on a hot Summer day. I try all kinds of flavors but if I had to choose Chunky Monkey. What is better than bananas and chocolate? I change it up weekly though just so I don't get bored.

Easy No Heat Headband Curls
Hey everybody! I recently discovered a super easy way to curl your hair. All you need is a headband. Maybe I'm behind on this trend but I thought I would share with you guys. Now that summer is coming you don't want to use a lot of heat on your hair. What I love is that you can do this hairstyle while you sleep. This means you can sleep an extra 10 minutes in the morning. That's awesome right? Send me pictures on Twitter if you try it out @jerica_89. Let's get to it!
Step 1:
Get your hair slightly damp. If you do this try it tends to not curl as well. Take a headband and put it directly over your hair and across your forehead. You can use any size headband depending on what type of curls you want. I used a thin one for tighter curls.
Step 2:
Take a 1 inch piece and wrap it around the headband. Make sure to pull tight so you have good curls. Add another 1 inch piece to the one you just pulled through. Keep doing this until you do half the headband then start the other side or the headband will start to slip up.
Step 3:
This is what it will look like once you wrap all your hair. I actually bobby pinned my hair to the headband so make sure it would stay. That is optional though. This took about 15 minutes to do. Now you just wait as long you want. I left mine in for 2 days just because I have thick hair.
Step 4:
To remove the headband, slowly pull it so the hair unravels. This is how mine turned out! You can style any way you want. I pinned mine in an updo because I was going to a fancy play. I didn't add any product and it lasted all night!

Jerica
