My May Playlist!

Happy Saturday!  May is already over!  Today is a bittersweet moment.  My baby sister is graduating from high school.  I'm feel happy but also sad because shes growing up!  I'm always so emotional.  Let's get back to the task at hand.  I'm still obsessed with all of last month's songs so if you missed it click here.  This month's playlist is about 95% female artists which is surprising because I don't usually listen to many females.  What songs have you been loving?  Let me know!

1. Sirens by Cher Lloyd
I just love her!  Her new album came out this month and let me just say it is SO good!  Go buy it on iTunes ASAP!  I discovered this song at like 2 AM while scrolling through Twitter.  I love it because it shows a completely different side of her.  I was instantly hooked!  I honestly love the video too.  Favorite lyric: Yeah I'm tired I'm growing older I'm getting weaker everyday yeah I am drowning, and you're stealing every breath

2. All I Ever Need by Austin Mahone
I've been a Mahomie for awhile now.  His album FINALLY came out this month and it was totally worth the wait!  I can't get enough!  This song is one I've had on repeat daily.  It is just such a cute song!  Plus I just imagine him singing to me every time I listen to it.  He is perfection!  Favorite lyric: When it comes to you Baby I'm addicted You're like a drug, no rehab can fix it I think you're perfect baby even with your flaws You ask what I like about you Ooh, I love it all

3. Problem by Ariana Grande feat. Iggy Azalea
Who isn't obsessed with Ariana Grande?  This is my song of the summer for sure.  I love how the beat is kinda old school but still modern.  Once you hear it, it will never leave your head.  I am just ready for the next album because I just love her stuff.  Favorite lyric: Every time you touch me And say you love me I get a little bit breathless I shouldn't want it But it's you!

4. Fancy by Iggy Azalea
Have you noticed a theme?  I may be slightly obsessed with her.  I just wish I could rap as good as her!  This song is super catchy and me and my little sister sing it constantly!  She might be my favorite artist right now.  The video is also a take on one of my favorite movies Clueless.  If you've never seen this film it is a must!  It's classic 90's.  Favorite lyric: Now tell me, who that, who that? That do that, do that? Put that paper over all, I thought you knew that, knew that I be that I-G-G-Y, put my name in bold I been working, I'm up in here with some change to throw

5. I Ain't Leavin' Without Your Love by Nashville Cast
If you follow me on Twitter you probably know I'm obsessed with the show Nashville.  This song is from one of the episodes and when I heard it I was in love with it.  After each season they put out an album of popular songs from the show.  I prayed that this song would make it and it did!  I highly recommend the show too.  Favorite lyric: Under the downtown neon lights That’s where you caught my eye You got me all worked up I ain't leavin' without your love

6. Tattoo by Hunter Hayes
His new album also came out this month and I'm obsessed!  I actually discovered him like 2 years ago on my Pandora and I've loved him ever since.  I was hoping his new album would be more upbeat because his first album was mostly slow.  I actually love it more than his first one.  This song is stuck in my head always just because it's catchy.  He's just amazing!  Favorite lyric: Your name, your name sounds so good next to mine, just saying And I think, I think I'm gonna put it in all my rhymes, baby Cause with you, I'm gonna do quite a few things that I never thought I would do Your name, your name, your name Would be a good tattoo

7. Kiss Me by Lucy Hale
If you didn't know that Lucy Hale had an album coming out where have you been?  She is one of my favorite people.  I'm obsessed with her on Pretty Little Liars!  When I heard she had an album coming out I preordered it right away.  This song came with the preorder and I can't stop listening too it!  It's just a fun catchy song.  I never pictured her doing country music but it works.  Favorite lyric: You leave here and you drive home You take a turn down my road I watch you through my window and hide so you can't see Don't you know I want you with me And it ain't just cause I'm tipsy You can act like it's all over And you don't miss me Or you could just kiss me

8. Young In America by Danielle Bradbery
I've loved her since she was on The Voice.  I'm so glad she won too.  This song is probably my most played song of the month.  It was always stuck in my head.  I play it pretty much every day still.  It makes me want to just roll down all the windows and drive while singing at the top of my lungs.  It is a total summer song.  I love her whole album.  Favorite lyric: Fine white sand, bare feet Kiss me on the beach So much to see Come on, come on Whoa-oh, oh, oh, ready set go Gotta get out of this small town Whoa-oh, oh, oh, the open road Air to breathe, the sun is shining down Oh, whoa, it's you and me In the land of the free So baby, let's run while we're young in America

9. Surfboard by Cody Simpson
I'm a big fan of him!  He is just so adorable.  This song is awesome!  It's like a mash up of the 60's and R&B.  I love 60's music so maybe that is why I love it so much.  He is just so smooth with everything he does.  This song is one I play in the morning to get my day started right.  It puts me in a summer mood for sure.  Favorite lyric: We woke up on the beach down in Mexico She asked me how we got here And I don't know We got back in the water The waves were crashing on her And you know how it goes

10. Am I Wrong by Nico and Vinz
This song has grown on me.  When I first heard it I actually didn't like it.  Now I really love it!  The beat is SUPER catchy and different which I like.  It just reminds of like an African safari.  It also just makes you wanna dance.  It's so good!  Favorite lyric: If you tell me I'm wrong, wrong I don't wanna be right, right If you tell me I'm wrong, wrong I don't wanna be right

♥Weekly Obsession♥

Now that school is over I have a lot of free time.  The only problem is that all my shows are over too.  So I decided to check out House Of Cards on Netflix.  I LOVE IT!  I'm actually watching it with my grandma.  She loves it too.  So far it's very sneaky which I like.  It's basically all about revenge and politics.  I always love a good drama.  I'm not a huge Kevin Spacey fan so I was unsure if I'd like it.  I can't get enough!  Unfortunately you can only watch on Netflix unless you buy the DVD's.  Check it out!

1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
3 cups Instant Rolled Oats

Directions:
In a saucepan add the Earth Balance, Agave, Vanilla Extract, PB2 Chocolate, and Almond Milk.  Put it on the stove until it comes to a boil.

Remove the saucepan from the stove once all ingredients have been combined.  While still hot add in the Instant Oats and stir until all oats are covered..

Pour into a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.  Place another piece of parchment paper on top and roll them flat.

Easy No Heat Headband Curls

Hey everybody!  I recently discovered a super easy way to curl your hair.  All you need is a headband.  Maybe I'm behind on this trend but I thought I would share with you guys.  Now that summer is coming you don't want to use a lot of heat on your hair.  What I love is that you can do this hairstyle while you sleep.  This means you can sleep an extra 10 minutes in the morning.  That's awesome right?  Send me pictures on Twitter if you try it out @jerica_89.  Let's get to it!

Step 1:
Get your hair slightly damp.  If you do this try it tends to not curl as well.  Take a headband and put it directly over your hair and across your forehead.  You can use any size headband depending on what type of curls you want.  I used a thin one for tighter curls.

Step 2:
Take a 1 inch piece and wrap it around the headband.  Make sure to pull tight so you have good curls.  Add another 1 inch piece to the one you just pulled through.  Keep doing this until you do half the headband then start the other side or the headband will start to slip up.

Step 3:
This is what it will look like once you wrap all your hair.  I actually bobby pinned my hair to the headband so make sure it would stay.  That is optional though.  This took about 15 minutes to do.  Now you just wait as long you want.  I left mine in for 2 days just because I have thick hair.

Step 4:
To remove the headband, slowly pull it so the hair unravels.  This is how mine turned out!  You can style any way you want.  I pinned mine in an updo because I was going to a fancy play.  I didn't add any product and it lasted all night!

DWTS Season 18: Who Won?

Tonight we find out the winner!  The show started with a big group number starring the entire cast.  It was lots of fun.  America chose James' freestyle as the encore dance.  It was even better tonight!  Amy was injured during the team dance so they did it live tonight.  Of course it was amazing!  Iggy Azalea performed her hit Fancy.  I'm obsessed with her!  Amber Riley who won last season sang her song Color Blind.  I liked it but I'm not a fan of slow songs.  Drew danced the Jive.  I've missed him!  Charlie and Meryl danced together which was great.  NeNe danced next.  It was crazy as expected!  Danica did her Beauty and the Beast dance.  It was one of my favorite dances from Disney night.  Cody Simpson sang Surfboard.  You guys know I love him!  Charlie performed his Mary Poppins routine which I loved!  James danced again but this time it was his Michael Jackson routine.  I still didn't love it.  Ariana Grande sang her new single Problem.  This is my jam!  Amber Riley performed with some of the best dancers in the country.  I LOVED it!  The finalists will dance a 24 hour fusion dance.  This means two dance styles fused together.  Amy was up first.  Her fusion styles were Argentine Tango and Cha Cha.  It was SO good!  Her score was 30 of 30.  Candace was up next.  Her fusion styles were Quickstep and Samba. She did awesome!  Her score was 27 of 30.  Last up was Meryl.  Her fusion styles were Foxtrot and Cha Cha.  Her score was 30 of 30.  Christina Perri sang her song Human which is one of my favorite songs.  Now it is results time!  In third place is Candace.  In second place is Amy.  The winner is Meryl!  I'm slightly disappointed but glad for her.

DWTS Season 18: Final Dances

It's night one of the finals!  Tomorrow night is when the results will be announced.  Tonight the celebrities will dance two dances.  First will be judges pick and everybody's favorite the Freestyle.  The show started with the finalists walking out together.  There was no group dance.  Somebody will be eliminated tonight.

JAMES MASLOW AND PETA MURGATROYD:
He is so glad to make the finals.  His first dance was the judges pick which was the Tango.  I REALLY loved it!  It was intense and passionate.  I'm just in love with him.  You can tell he really wants to win.  It was a HUGE improvement from the first time he did it.  His score was 29 of 30.  Next up is the Freestyle round.  It was insane!  It had a dance battle type theme.  He looked like a pro.  He killed it!  His score was 29 of 30.  His total of the night is 58.

MERYL DAVIS AND MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY:
She wanted to help come up with choreography but her partner disagreed.  Her first dance was the judges pick which was the Argentine Tango.  This is always one of my favorite styles.  I honestly didn't love it.  I wanted more passion and anger.  Her other was much better.  Her score was 30 of 30.  Next up is the Freestyle round.  It was very good.  I wouldn't have chosen this as the freestyle.  It was beautiful and flawless but I wanted more excitement.  Her score was 30 of 30.  Her total of the night is 60.

CANDACE CAMERON BURE AND MARK BALLAS:
She is still in shock she made the finals.  Her first dance was the judges pick which was the Quickstep.  I was impressed.  She was happy and totally focused.  It was classic but still fun.  It was her best yet and her partner was injured.  Her score was 27 of 30.  Next up is the Freestyle round.  She KILLED it!  She held nothing back!  She had tons of confidence.  It was the perfect end for her.  Her score was 24 of 30.  Her total of the night is 51.

AMY PURDY AND DEREK HOUGH:
She wants to push limits and do everything to win.  Her first dance was the judges pick which was the Salsa.  It was AMAZING!  It was fun and full of energy!  The lifts were crazy too.  She keeps improving still!  I couldn't even tell she was hurt.  Her score was 30 of 30.  Next up is the Freestyle round.  I honestly cried.  It was so beautiful and emotional.  It was inspiring and I loved every second!  Her score was 29 of 30.  Her total of the night is 59.

Results:
Meryl, Amy, and Candace are safe.  James has been eliminated.  I was a little shocked.

Motivational Monday: Speak Up!

School is over!  That means I'm back on schedule.  Today's post is something I've been struggling with lately.  Every single thing I say people take it completely the wrong way.  It's very frustrating.  I'm a sensitive person so I hate being judged.  My first reaction was to just not share things with these people.  Then I thought no way because that means they win.  I will rise above!  My message for you guys is to speak up!  You can do it for others or yourself but don't be afraid.  Who cares if they judge you?  Nobody is better then anybody else.  My grandma said the only reason people say something its because they are dealing with their own issues.  Basically my favorite quote "Haters Gonna Hate" and I say that pretty much daily.  Don't be afraid to say what you feel.  Have you every been in a situation like this?  Let me know!

♥Weekly Obsession♥

I'm back!  Finals week got crazy but I'm off for summer officially!  This week's obsession is a food.  It is birthday cake flavored M&M's!  I love cake in general.  Combining that in candy form is AMAZING!  I've tried every flavor of M&M made.  Some are excellent some not so much.  These are awesome!  It actually tastes like birthday cake too!  I can't get enough.  I've only found the small bags at gas stations so if you know where to find a big bag then let me know!  What's your current obsession?

DWTS Season 18: American Icons

It's the semifinals!  I can't believe finals are NEXT week!  This week is all about honoring American Icons.  The celebrities will be dancing two full dances.  This week the guest judge is Kenny Ortega.  He has choreographed movies such as High School Musical and Footloose.  I'm a big fan.  Tonight somebody will be eliminated.  The show started with a group dance which I loved.  Tonight was also the final Macy's Stars of Dance of the season.  It was choreographed by Derek Hough and honored a bunch of movies.  I LOVED it!  It was the best yet!

CANDACE CAMERON BURE AND MARK BALLAS:
She finally let her guard down and had fun.  This week her first dance was the Viennese Waltz.  I really enjoyed it.  There were some mistakes which showed on her face.  She allowed her partner to get her through.  She never gives up.  Her score was 34 of 40.  Her second dance this week was Jazz.  I loved it.  It was so simple but very intricate and precise.  I was NOT expecting that from her.  I was very impressed!  Her score was 38 of 40.  Her total for the night is 72.

CHARLIE WHITE AND SHARNA BURGESS:
He finally got a perfect score last week.  This week his first dance was the Foxtrot.  I actually liked it.  It was fun but still elegant.  It also was modern which I really liked.  I love when older dances become modern.  His score was 40 of 40.  His second dance this week was the Samba.  I was surprised by how good it was.  I wanted more funk especially for the song.  It was fun though.  His personality always shows through.  His score was 36 of 40.  His total for the night is 76.

AMY PURDY AND DEREK HOUGH:
She is still discovering new ways to improve her dancing.  This week her first dance was the Quickstep.  It was FLAWLESS.  I actually teared up.  It was light and bouncy and just a lot of fun.  Every time she dances I am inspired.  Her score was 39 of 40.  Her second dance this week was Jazz.  It was AMAZING!  It was classic!  She can do no wrong.  There was a slight mistake but still perfection.  Her score was 39 of 40.  Her total for the night is 78.

JAMES MASLOW AND PETA MURGATROYD:
He keeps growing every week and surviving eliminations.  This week his first dance was the Cha Cha.  You guys know I love him but I didn't love this dance.  I felt like he was trying to be Michael Jackson and not himself.  I hate when celebrities do that.  It was still a good dance though.  His score was 40 of 40.  His second dance this week was the Rumba.  It was sexy!  The connection was totally there.  He needed to show more emotion though.  He had a few small mistakes but those can be fixed.  His score was 36 of 40.  His total for the night is 76.

MERYL DAVIS AND MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY:
She was at the bottom of the leader board for the first time.  This week her first dance was the Jive.  I thought it was good.  I expected her to be better.  Her dancing was perfect but I wanted more personality.  I just wanted more.  Her score was 40 of 40.  Her second dance this week was the Viennese Waltz.  I liked this one a lot more.  It was so sweet and romantic.  I actually wanted more!  She always gets into character and I love that.  It was beautiful.  Her score was 40 of 40.  Her total for the night was 80.

Results:
Candace, James, and Amy are in the finals!  Charlie and Meryl are in danger.  Charlie is eliminated.  I kinda surprised but I love the final 4.

Neighbors Movie Review

On Tuesday I had the chance to attend a prescreening of the movie Neighbors.  I was very excited to see this movie.  First of all I LOVE Zac Efron and it looked hilarious.  I was worried though because sometimes the trailers have all the best parts.  Trust me, it did not disappoint at all!  My sister and I pretty much laughed from the beginning to the end.  If you don't know what it is about I will give a brief summary.  I don't want to ruin anything!  I'll also leave the trailer below.  Neighbors is about a frat who moves into a family neighborhood.  Seth Rogen's character lives in the house with his family directly next door to the frat house.  They go back and forth with pranks hoping one will leave.  I highly recommend this film.  It is the comedy of the summer.  It is rated R and has many sex and drug references.  If you aren't comfortable with that then you may not like it.  It is in theaters now!  Let me know if your thoughts!

DWTS Season 18: Abby Lee Miller Is In The House!

It week 8!  It has went SO fast!  Tonight's theme is celebrity duels.  This means the celebrity's will be directly competing against another celebrity without their partner for part of the dance.  This has never been done on the show.  Tonight's guest judge is  Abby Lee Miller!  I'm so excited because I love Dance Moms.  The girls from the show are also in the audience.  Somebody will be eliminated tonight.  The show started with Mark Ballas singing his new song Get My Name.  I love him so of course it was amazing!

CHARLIE WHITE AND SHARNA BURGESS:
He is feeling frustrated with his scores.  He needs to enjoy the experience instead.  This week he danced the Quickstep.  It definitely showed his personality.  Overall I didn't love it.  It just seemed a bit boring for me.  I've seen better dances from him.  The judges loved it though.  His score was 40 of 40.

DANICA MCKELLAR AND VALENTIN CHMERKOVSKIY:
She really wants to make it to the finals.  This week she danced the Tango.  I was in love with this dance!  I couldn't even tell she was still injured.  The concept was just magical.  It reminded me of the Black Swan.  It had a TON of passion.  They just connect so well.  Her score was 38 of 40.

MERYL DAVIS AND MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY:
She has a very strong connection with her partner.  This week she danced the Rumba.  Honestly it was amazing!  I kinda didn't want to end.  It was a different than a typical Rumba.  It needed a little more Rumba moves but the story was great.  She really showed emotion though.  Her score was 36 of 40.

CANDACE CAMERON BURE AND MARK BALLAS:
She it letting go of all the stress and just enjoying it.  This week she danced the Foxtrot.  It was SO adorable!  The story was just so fun and happy.  Of course it wasn't perfect but it was one of her best.  Her personality is finally showing through.  I loved her confidence in this dance.  I just love her!  Her score was 36 of 40.

JAMES MASLOW AND PETA MURGATROYD:
He was almost send home and he is on the bottom of the leader board.  This week he danced the Viennese Waltz.  I really loved this dance!  It was so beautiful, elegant, and romantic.  I loved how well it flowed.  His posture still needs some work but I could watch him all day.  His score was 36 of 40.

AMY PURDY AND DEREK HOUGH:
Last week she hurt her back but she can still continue on.  This week she danced the Argentine Tango.  I was really worried about this dance for her because it is very intricate.  She KILLED it!  It was so entrancing and I couldn't look away!  It was total and complete perfection!  She is perfect!  She inspires me.  Her score was 40 of 40.

Duels:
MERYL DAVIS AND DANICA MCKELLAR:
Meryl and Danica were paired up.  The training was very intense.  There was a little bit of fighting.  They danced the Samba.  It was just okay.  The content was there but it was off at parts.  I wanted it to be more fun!  Meryl was a lot stronger in this dance.  Their scores were 34 of 40.  This will be added to their scores from earlier.

CANDACE CAMERON BURE AND CHARLIE WHITE:
Candace and Charlie were paired up.  Everybody really worked well to create the routine.  They danced a Contemporary routine.  It was AMAZING!  They were perfect together.  They are so opposite but that's what made it great.  The lifts were flawless.  I wanted more!  Their score was 38 of 40.

JAMES MASLOW AND AMY PURDY:
Amy and James were paired up.  They needed to learn to trust each other.  She struggled because she like she was limiting James.  They danced the Jive.  This was the best duel of the night!  It was just so fun!  It was PERFECTION!  I loved them together!  I want more!  Their score was 39 of 40.

Results:
Meryl, Amy, Candace, and Charlie are all safe.  Danica and James are in danger.  Danica is eliminated.  I was kinda surprised but I think her injury really affected her scores.
