I got Lemon Starburst!  This was a fail because it is my least favorite flavor.  It was still fun though!!

My 2016 Goals

Happy 2016!!!  It's that time again.  It's time to set goals that we want to accomplish.  Last year was the first time I actually made goals for myself.  I didn't do very well but I didn't fail either.  If you want to see them go here.  2015 had a lot going on and I loved it!  I did decide to go back to school which did change what I had planned.  I'm in the groove now though so I hope to make my 2016 even better!!!  What is a goal you have for 2016?

Read 12 books: I failed to read 10 last year so why would I add more?  I really want to challenge myself.  A book every month shouldn't be hard.

Start a podcast: My friend and I are in the process of learning how to start it.  So hopefully in 2016 we can launch it.

Blog 5 days a week: I did pretty well last year so I'm going to keep going with it!  I want to do deeper topics so if you have any ideas let me know.

Get a tattoo: This might seem random but I'm going to be 27 this year.  I'm terrified of needles so this will be a big step for me.  I'm ready!

Take a vacation: I didn't do this last year.  I think this Summer we will finally do it.  I'll go anywhere!

Journal: I found a 5 year journal but I didn't want to commit to that.  I'm going to try a year instead.  I think it will be fun to look back on.

Take more pictures: I love photos but I always forget to take them.  I'm going to capture  more memories this years.

Quiz Tuesday: Which Subtle Tattoo Should You Get Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

Happy Tuesday!  I always get so excited for these posts.  They are a lot of fun and I love seeing your answers too!  Today's quiz is something I've been thinking about a lot lately.  It's called Which Subtle Tattoo Should You Get Based On Your Zodiac Sign?  I am OBSESSED with tattoo's but needles freak me out.  I've decided in 2016 I will get a tattoo!  I'm interested in the results because I have one in mind already.  You can take the quiz by clicking here.  Share your results in the comments!

My zodiac sign is Cancer.  I got a black cat on my ankle.  The description says: You are friendly and approachable. Much like the black cat, you have multiple lives. You are resilient.

The description fits me perfectly but I'm not a cat person.  I do like the ankle idea though.  I'll keep you guys posted!

DWTS Season 21: Pro Hometown Glory

It's night 2 of week 2!!  Tonight another celebrity will be eliminated.  Last night the celebrities showed off their hometowns and now it's the pros turn.  I'm excited about this because I like learning about the pros.  They are just as important as the celebrities.  If you missed last night's recap click here.  This is the first time the celebrities have had to learn two dances so soon.  I have no idea who will be going home tonight.  The show started with a pro number.  I loved it!  Make sure you vote to keep your favorites safe!  Come back next Monday for TV week!

HAYES GRIER AND EMMA SLATER:
Emma is from Tamworth, England.  She picked the song Are You Gonna Be My Girl.  This week he danced the Quickstep.  I'm starting to really like him.  It was modern and youthful.  I loved the choreography.  I wasn't ready for him to be that good.  He still needs to work on his frame and feet but girls love him.  His score is 23 of 30.

CARLOS PENAVEGA AND WITNEY CARSON:
Witney is from American Fork, Utah.  She chose the song Hound Dog.  This week he danced the Cha Cha.  I loved this dance!  It was such a different take on the Cha Cha.  It did need more traditional steps but it was fun.  I did want more swagger from him but he still looked good.  I'm still a fan!  His score is 21 of 30.

GARY BUSEY AND ANNA TREBUNSKAYA:
Anna is from Chelyabinsk, Russia.  She chose the song 1812 Overture.  This week he danced the Paso Doble.  Well he stayed in character.  I just can't take him seriously.  I wanted more control and passion.  It was all over the place and off beat.  I'm not sure he'll go very far.  His score is 15 of 30.

ANDY GRAMMER AND ALLISON HOLKER:
Allison is from Los Angeles, California.  She chose the song Heaven Is A Place On Earth.  This week he danced Contemporary.  It was SO much better than last night.  It was such a beautiful dance.  It was some extremely hard choreography and he did it.  His arms need some work still but he was much more focused tonight.  His score is 23 of 30.

ALEXA PENAVEGA AND MARK BALLAS:
Mark is from London, England.  He chose the song Somewhere In Time.  This week she danced the Rumba.I got very emotional during this.  It was so classy and I loved it.  It was just so simple and elegant and just beautiful.  She did need a bit more hip action but she was gorgeous.  Her score is 22 of 30.

PAULA DEEN AND LOUIS VAN AMSTEL:
Louis is from Amsterdam, Netherlands.  He chose the song Get Ready.  This week she danced the Tango.  I was slightly disappointed.  There were some mistakes which made the mood go down.  She has so much potential and sass.  I really want to see more of that.  She needs to stay focused.  Her score is 18 of 30.

BINDI IRWIN AND DEREK HOUGH:
Derek is from Sandy, Utah.  He chose the song Only A Man.  This week she danced the Waltz.  It was so beautiful and touching.  She always looks amazing.  I adore the connection between them.  There was a lift which is against the rules.  I didn't even care though.  Her score is 23 of 30.

KIM ZOLCIAK BIERMANN AND TONY DOVOLANI:
Tony is from Pristina, Kosovo.  He chose the song Come Home.  This week she danced the Foxtrot.  She did incredible!  I can't believe the difference she has made from last week.  She is actually naturally graceful.  I think she does better with the formal dances.  Her footwork could use some work but she has potential.  Her score is 18 of 30.

ALEK SKARLATOS AND LINDSAY ARNOLD:
Lindsay is from Provo, Utah.  She chose the song American Girl.  This week he danced the Quickstep.  I thought the dance was cute and a lot of fun.  He messed up quite a few times which made me not love it.  His shoulders were raised which made him seem very closed off.  I'm rooting for him though.  His score is 22 of 30.

VICTOR ESPINOZA AND KARINA SMIRNOFF:
Karina is from Kharkiv, Ukraine.  She chose the song Girl On Fire.  This week he danced the Rumba.  I thought this was his best dance so far.  I didn't love it though.  It didn't feel like a Rumba to me at all.  It was too powerful and not sensual enough.  He needs so much work still.  I'm just not a fan 20 of 30.

NICK CARTER AND SHARNA BURGESS:
Sharna is from Wagga Wagga, Austrailia.  She chose the song Coming Home.  This week he danced the Foxtrot.  I LOVED IT!!!!  I got emotional again!  It was such a special moment and I couldn't look away.  He made a comeback from last night.  He was just so focused and it was beautiful.  He will go very far and I'm voting for him!!!  His score is 24 of 30.

TAMAR BRAXTON AND VALENTIN CHMERKOVSKIY:
Val is from New York City.  He chose the song Living In New York.  This week she danced the Charleston.  OMG I just love her!  It was AMAZING on so many levels.  It was funky and modern.  She killed it!  Their connection is so much better than last night.  I want more!!!!!!!!  #SlayTay  Her score is 25 of 30.

Results:
Tamar, Bindi, Nick, Alek, Alexa, Carlos, Paula, Kim, Andy, Hayes, and Gary are safe.  Victor has been eliminated.

It's already Tuesday!  That means it's quiz time!  I love reflecting on my childhood.  It was just such a great and easier time.  I saw this quiz and knew I must take it.  It's called Can We Guess What Kind Of Kid You Actually Were?  My mom and I can never agree on this so I'm interested to see what the results say.  You can take this quiz with me right here.  Share your results!

I got the rebel.  The description says: You like to cause one hell of a ruckus whenever you’re with your kick-ass group of friends. You’re independent and aren’t afraid to create your own path in life.

Well, I guess my mom was right.  She always says I was constantly causing trouble.  Of course I think I was sweet and innocent. ;)

Would You Rather *Book Edition*

Hey guys!  Today I wanted to do a fun but different post.  I actually saw this done on YouTube and I really enjoyed it.  It's Would You Rather questions but all about books!  I've been a bookworm for pretty much my entire life so it seems fitting.  If you want more posts like this let me know!  Also if you do this leave a link in the comments!

Would You Rather...

1. Read only trilogies or stand alones?
I would have to choose stand alones.  I have only really LOVED one trilogy which was the Divergent series.  With stand alone books I can read multiple by the same author.  There is also less expectation for the follow up book to be better.

2. Read only female or male authors?
I read mainly male authors but to be honest I have no preference.

3. Shop at bookshops or online?
I always by books online.  I just haven't found a good bookshop that I like in my town.  Maybe I'll look for one downtown.

4. All books become movies or t.v. shows?
Definitely TV shows.  First of all I'm obsessed with TV plus you can get SO much more detail.  Movies tend to change or cut things out that are important.  They don't always do the book justice.

5. Read 5 pages per day or 5 books per week?
I would pick 5 books a week.  This is easily doable for me.  I'm constantly reading so a book a day isn't hard.  5 pages a day gets you hooked but you couldn't continue.  It would frustrate me!

6. Be a professional reviewer or author?
Well I'm already kind of a reviewer on this blog.  Being an author would be too much pressure for me.  I'll stick with blogging!

7. Only read your top 20 favorite books over and over or always read new ones that you haven't read before?
This is a hard one.  I think I'd rather read my favorites over and over.  I love to reread.  I feel like I would miss out on a lot by not reading new ones but that's okay.  It didn't say I couldn't read the new books reviews ;)

8. Be a librarian or bookseller?
I think a bookseller would be fun.  You can tell a lot about a person based on what books they buy.  In libraries you never know if it's required reading or for enjoyment.

9. Only read your favorite genre, or every genre except your favorite?
I'm not sure I have a favorite genre.  I read all kinds of books so I guess I'd choose every genre.

10. Only read physical books or eBooks?
I read eBooks.  They are just more convenient for me.  Plus they tend to be cheaper which I love..  I do own some physical books only because they are my favorites.

Quiz Tuesday: Which Fictional ’90s Girl Is Your BFF?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  This is one of my favorite holidays.  I hope you all stay safe as well!  Today's quiz is all about the 90's...again.  I just really love the 90's!  It's called Which Fictional ’90s Girl Is Your BFF?  I can't wait to see who I get because let's be honest the 90's had a lot of great BFF's.  You can take the quiz with me here.

I got Romy and Michele from Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion.  The description says: You, Romy, and Michele would become an inseparable trio thanks to your shared love of pop culture, fashion, and FUN. Could you imagine any two people more awesome to hang out with? You’d make crazy clothes, marathon old TV shows, and take amazing road trips. Watch out Tuscon, here we come!

This pretty much describes me and my cousin.  She is honestly my BFF!  We have actually done all three things mentioned.  Who did you get?  Let me know!!!

Quiz Tuesday: Which HGTV Show Should You Appear On?

Happy Tuesday!  Some of you may not know I'm a TV addict.  I watch WAY too much TV and one of my biggest guilty pleasure is HGTV.  I just spend entire days watching it.  It's like a vortex.  That's why I chose today's quiz.  It is called Which HGTV Show Should You Appear On?  I can't wait to see what I get.  You can take the quiz here.  Make sure you share your results!

I got House Hunters!  The description says: You love to sneak a peak around your friends’ and neighbors’ homes at every chance you get, so why not just go on House Hunters? You’re a decisive person who knows what they want (hardwood floors, obvs) but is never too rash in your decision making. Sure, you can sometimes be a bit stubborn when it comes to getting your way, but who isn’t every once in a while?

The description fits quite nicely.  I'm very stubborn but I can be persuaded if I need to be.  I'm slightly sad I didn't get The Property Brothers but I still like the results.

Quiz Tuesday: Which Spice Girls Song Captures The Theme Of Your Life Right Now?

Happy Tuesday!  I have to say I've been a Spice Girl fan for about 90% of my life.  So when I saw this quiz, I knew I had to take it!  It is Which Spice Girls Song Captures The Theme Of Your Life Right Now?  I'm interested to see what I get because I'm at a weird point in my life right now.  You can take the quiz here.  Share your results in the comments!

I got Spice Up Your Life.  The description says: Hey, you. You’re an energetic, empowered individual who’s living your life in a positive, carefree way. Your enthusiasm and fun-loving nature are your best assets, and you know that good times and chill people are the ~spice~ of life. All of that makes this the perfect song for you. It’s an anthem for the people of the world, after all. Now go on and shake it to the right, because you KNOW that you feel fine.

I really like this description.  It really does fit me and my personality.  Plus I'm obsessed with that song.

Book Review: Before I Go To Sleep

To be honest, I've had this book for about 3 years.  I started reading it but then I sort of forgot about it.  I finally finished it so I thought I'd do a review.

Here is the excerpt from Goodreads: As I sleep, my mind will erase everything I did today. I will wake up tomorrow as I did this morning. Thinking I'm still a child, thinking I have a whole lifetime of choice ahead of me... Memories define us. So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep? Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love--all forgotten overnight. And the one person you trust may only be telling you half the story.  Welcome to Christine's life.

I could not put this book down!  It is a mystery/thriller.  Many twists happen that you never really expect.  I don't usually read these books but I enjoyed it a lot.  The concept was just so different.  Also just when you think you know the ending, it takes a completely different turn!  I can't say much without ruining it!  Have you read it?  Let me know your thoughts!

My Anorexia Story

Today I wanted to get personal with you guys.  I know that some of you may be dealing with this and I want to help.  I am an anorexic survivor.  The first step to any problem is admitting it.  Let's start from the beginning.

As a kid I was always quite chubby.  I couldn't be active thought due to being in a wheelchair.  My weight never bothered me until I was 11.  I was happy and just loving life.  I started noticing that all my friends were so skinny and could wear cute clothes.  I wanted to look like them.  Then it happened, I was called fat.  This totally devastated me.  I had to do something!  So I woke up one morning thinking if food makes you fat then not eating must make you skinny.  Logical right?

You have to remember that I was only 11 so I didn't even know eating disorders existed.  I started off by just skipping breakfast.  My parents worked full time so they never knew.  After a few months I realized I had lost a little weight.  It wasn't enough though so by summer I cut out lunch as well.  It took over my entire mind!  I became obsessed!  I was SO hungry but it was working!  People were noticing and say how good I looked!  My mom just assumed it was puberty until I decided I needed to be even skinnier.  Every night we ate dinner as a family so I had to take control but go unnoticed.  First I'd only eat half my plate and then a fourth until finally I would only eat 4-5 bites.  My mom would bribe and beg me to eat with ice cream, candy, and cake.

I'm not going to say my weight but I was slowly killing myself.  I was weak and tired all the time.  Finally my mom told me that if I kept going down this path I would die.  That's when it hit me.  I realized I wasn't being my true self.  I had let this obsession control me.  I started drinking Ensure shakes and slowly got my appetite back.  I'm not gonna lie, I still struggle daily with my weight.  You are never actually cured.  I still have thoughts about keeping my weight low.  I have learned to ignore them.  I just tell myself that I don't need to please others.  I am who I am.

If any of you are going through this know I'm here for you.  If you want talk privately you can email me or leave a comment.

Being The Bigger Person

Yesterday a disagreement happened between me and a person who I thought knew me pretty well.  I consider them to be a friend.  I've defended her, stood up for her, and been nothing but nice.  Now I feel betrayed.  I won't go into full detail but I've learned a major lesson.  What lesson?  Being the bigger person.

First off, no matter what the situation, there is a certain way to approach me.  You have to ease into it otherwise I am automatically defensive.  This is exactly what happened.  I freaked out!  I'm not a fighter but when I get mad words just fly out.  I don't stop and think.  I may have said a few things that offended and upset her.  I immediately wanted to call my mom because I knew she'd be in my corner.  Then I thought I'm 25 not 12 so I should probably handle it myself.

After being alone for a few minutes I cooled down.  I did apologize but she didn't seem to accept it.  I'm only human.  Of course I'm going to make mistakes and say things I don't mean.  It feels refreshing to be mature.  Sometimes, no matter what you do, you just need to be the bigger person.  I know it's hard but I know you can do it.

#DeflateGate

We are only a week away from the Super Bowl!  I've been watching for as long as I can remember.  I do enjoy the game but I mainly socialize.  This year it is The Seahawks vs. Patriots.  There is some controversy so I thought I'd share my thoughts.

In the final playoff game the Patriots played the Colts.  It has been proven that the Patriots played with deflated balls to have a better grip in the rain.  The consequence?  They only had to pay a fee and can still play in the Super Bowl.  This is totally wrong!  If this were just a regular game then I'd be fine with the fine.  This was the playoffs for the biggest game of the season.  The Patriots should be disqualified!

It's too late now for a change.  Let's just hope the Seahawks beat them fairly.  What are your thoughts?  I'm also excited for Katy Perry to perform the halftime show.  Who are you rooting for?  Let me know!
